*Open to employees employed through Carnival UK only*
Great news, you can now officially submit your request to buy up to five days of extra leave or sell up to two days.
You have until Monday 15 March 2023 to do this, although we recommend doing as soon as possible so you can ask any questions and ensure you have processed the request correctly.
How does the scheme work this year?
If you request to buy additional holiday, deductions from your salary will be made over nine months from 1 April to 31 December rather than the usual 12 – deductions will be larger each month but over a shorter period. All requests are subject to approval from your line manager and Director/VP.
What’s the process if I want to apply?
Once you’ve had a think about what you want to do, you’ll need to have an initial chat with your line manager to discuss your application as well as any carry over holiday and TOIL you have left to take before the end of the year. You’ll then need to:
- Apply for Holiday Trading on myHR portal – here’s the support guide. Your line manager and Director/VP will be advised of your application and they will be notified once the window closes to approve this.
- You will be advised if your application was successful by end of March before any salary exchange or sacrifice.
- Your holiday balance will be updated on myHR portal by mid-April.
Your holiday trading exchange or sacrifice (depending on whether you’ve bought or sold leave) will start in April 2023. Please take a look at the scheme rules if you’re part-time.
For full details of the Holiday Trading scheme access The Bridge where you’ll find a salary calculator and scheme rules.
Holiday Carry Over from 2022
Please ensure that any annual leave carried over from last year is booked and/or taken by 31 March 2023. Having time away from work to switch off, rest and relax is extremely important for you and your wellbeing.
The latter half of this year is going to be yet another busy time for many of us so it’s even more important to plan ahead and book in your leave sooner rather than later for 2023.
If you have any trouble submitting your holiday trading application, please contact Aida Ardelean.
