The role of Employer Brand at Carnival UK is to help attract new colleagues (also known as ‘talent’) to our P&O Cruises and Cunard fleet and ashore in Carnival House. This is done by promoting our colleagues, culture and benefits. Employer Brand is a relatively new function within the business and, to date, activity has been focused on departments with the highest number of vacancies; one of these being Medical.
When we’re promoting our career opportunities we want to reach as wide an audience as we can so lots of people consider starting a career at sea. One way to do this is through partnerships with people who can reach the wide audiences we’re after, especially audiences that fit our specific role requirements.
For medical, Dr Alex is the perfect partner; not only is he a medical professional, but his Instagram account, which focuses on mental health and wellbeing, has 1.9 million followers! That’s why we invited him on board to film a short video to promote cruise medic careers at sea.
This is the first time we’ve partnered with an influencer for Employer Brand activity and filming was a collaboration led by P&O Cruises PR, with the support of shoreside colleagues in Medical, Employer Brand, Fleet People Operations, and colleagues on board Queen Victoria – thank you to everyone who helped make this possible.
