Its been pot luck for some and for others a fantastic effort as Carnival UK colleagues battle it out to become CUK’s pool champion of the year.
Not only have our players been fighting for the title of champion there’s also been some fantastic fundraising for our CUK charity partner, Monty’s, with each player donating to the Summer of sport campaign taking place now at Carnival House.
And it’s not over yet as the grand final gets underway in the Atrium at 12:00 on Tuesday 23 August.
Whats been happening so far?
Round one got underway with a number of ‘strike it lucky’ players, including Sam Taylor, Facilities Coordinator, pictured here 👆 on left, now through to the next stage. In his defence, JJ Paolino, Digital Design Executive (pictured right) put up a great fight declaring…
I only learnt the British rules on the way down to the Atrium 3 minutes before playing my game!
Other players have shown great dedication, such as Facilities Coordinator, Dave Morris, who came in to work on his day off to play and Chris Bird, from our P&O Cruises Sales and Marketing department, who
“didn’t really mean to enter the tournament at all!”.
Peter Lewis, from our Fleet Operations team, said of his win against Chris,
It was pretty nip and tuck for the first 5 balls, both of us missed a sitter or two as well. I got a lucky break, on a different day it could easily have gone the other way.
Thanks to all those who signed up (including Omar Ali, a late entry) and who’ve helped raise nearly ÂŁ200 so far for Monty’s, our CUK Charity Partner. You’re all champions!
Why not head down to the Atrium this week to support your fellow colleagues in the grand final of CUK’s 2022 charity pool tournament.
