In 2022, Her Majesty The Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service. There’ll be many events and activities celebrating the Jubilee across the UK Commonwealth and beyond in the days leading up to the special extended bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 June.
Celebrations are being arranged across the fleet and we want to make sure our colleagues at Carnival House can join in too. More than 70,000 ‘Big Jubilee Lunches’ and events are planned across the country, so we’re joining in the fun and hosting our very own picnic style ‘big lunch’.

From Monday 30 May to Wednesday 1 June, we’ll be transforming the Atrium into a Jubilee celebration space for all shoreside colleagues to enjoy. Here’s what’s happening…
Afternoon Tea Treats
Is it cream or jam first? According to former royal chef Darren Mcgrady it’s “jam first at Buckingham Palace garden parties!” but we’ll let you decide as the great scone debate brings us together for an afternoon scone or two!
Over the three day celebration you’ll be able to purchase traditional afternoon tea treats from our Atrium Café. A selection of scones, sandwiches and cakes will be made available for your ‘big lunch’ selection or simply as an afternoon treat. To accompany your afternoon tea treats we’re giving away free Teapigs tea. Pop by the breakout areas on floors one to four to collect yours and enjoy a break with a brew.

Not the official platinum pudding but a delicious alternative and what better way to celebrate the occasion than with a free Jubilee cupcake?
Enjoy free Ice Cream!
You heard it here first, from 11:00 – 14:00 on Tuesday 31 May you’ll be able to enjoy a free sample of Jude’s ice cream.
Live Music
As part of these special celebrations, we’re inviting British singer songwriter, Emma Stevens, to perform a selection of repertoire over your ‘big lunch’ time out. Emma will be joining us on Tuesday 31 May from 12:00 – 14:00. All you need to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the soothing melodies of Emma’s distinctively catchy style.
