Every year we have our cycle of Performance conversations, each one designed to support your career aspirations and personal development. As we come to the end of Q1, it’s time to reflect, if you haven’t already, on how things are going and where we should focus over the next few months.

Preparation is pivotal for quality conversations. Here’s how you can get ready…
For all colleagues
Before your meeting with your line manager, take time to reflect on how things are going and what it is you want to achieve this year. Spend time thinking about the four questions below and then complete your answers in MyHR Portal – read below for how to do this.
- Looking back at the past quarter, what were your key achievements and successes?
- How did you display our culture essentials in the past quarter? (Use the behavioural examples to help you do this.)
- What challenges did you face in the past quarter and how did you overcome them?
- What will be your key focus for the next quarter and what support do you need?
For people managers
To help you prepare visit Good Practice for guidance which includes information on how to have an effective development discussion. If you have any questions, please speak to your HR Business Partner or People Support (peoplesupport@carnivalukgroup.com or 02380 65 6666).
What you’ll need to do in myHR portal;
- Access your Enabling Conversation Document by going to: Career and Performance>Performance Evaluations>Q1 Enabling Conversation 2022
- Complete the four questions in good time before the meeting with your manager and submit the document. You’ll also need to take time to consider your performance and development goals and be prepared to discuss these with your manager too.
- Your line manager will then add their comments to the Enabling Conversation document (this can be done during or after the conversation). Once they’ve submitted the document, the process is complete.
- Once you’ve had a conversation with your manager and agreed your performance and development goals you’ll need add them to MyHR Portal. To do this go to: Goals > Add.
