Today marks the start of National Inclusion Week, a moment for us all to focus on our commitment to a positive and just culture, based on inclusion and the power of diversity.
“While the Vision Statement is an important first step, we must take actions to back it up….[An] important priority across all brands is our commitment to promoting and fostering diversity and inclusion throughout our Corporation. While we have made progress, we all agree we need to do more.”
Peter Anderson, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer
What is DE&I?
To date, we’ve talked about ‘Belonging and Inclusion’ at Carnival UK. To align to our Vision Statement and our Culture Essentials, we now talk about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I). You can see in the diagram below that individually, each area is important, but it’s not until they all come together that a sense of belonging is achieved, something we hope will happen naturally at Carnival UK as a result of our DE&I activity.

In our Vision Statement, we place inclusion and diversity at the heart of our culture. This is something that Carnival’s CEO, Arnold Donald, has been championing for many years.
Hear him talk about the importance of DE&I in this Bloomberg Interview on YouTube.
Be curious, be you, belong

Also this week – Mini Pulse Survey
Remember, a small, randomly-selected group of colleagues are being invited to take part in our anonymous Mini Pulse Survey – if you’re invited, please speak up and share your honest opinions about how we operate, how we interact with each other and how we’re focusing on our highest responsibility and top priority of compliance, environmental protection and the health, safety and wellbeing of our guests, the people in the communities we touch and serve, and our shipboard and shoreside employees.
