Meet the crew – William Gomes, Bartender

The countdown is on! As Iona prepares to set sail on her maiden cruise, we’ve been catching up with a few of our colleagues on board to hear their stories.

Say hello to William Gomes, Bartender:

Hello, my name is William and I’m from Mumbai in India. I have been working on board with P&O Cruises for 26 years and my first ship was the lovely Canberra.

I started working at sea because I wanted to meet people from around the world. I love seeing new cultures and meeting people from different places. I’ve been lucky to be on board for six world cruises so far!

I am so excited about working on Iona, she is very elegant. I will be working in Vistas Café Bar in the atrium. I love talking to Guests and making them happy with their coffee in the morning so that they keep on coming back.

After a busy day, I love watching movies and seeing my friends on board. I can’t wait to catch up with everyone in The Hub again after not being able to see them for so long.

And of course I can’t wait to see our Guests again and help them to have a wonderful holiday.”
