With our return to service just a few weeks away, we’re continuing to recruit talent to help us deliver our plans and achieve our business goals.

Over the past month we’ve welcomed 42 new colleagues to Carnival UK and although induction is held over Zoom, the welcome is just as warm as when we were in Carnival House.

Alex Flint, Guest Support Team Leader, Cunard

Hi, I’m Alex. I’m joining the Cunard Guest Support Team and I’m very keen to get started on my journey with Carnival UK.

A little about me; I have spent the last 10 years travelling the world with TUI as a Team Manager. During my travels I have been to some fantastic destinations such as Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Italy, Cape Verde, Balearic Islands, Canaries, Thailand, Caribbean and Mexico. I also spent six years managing ski resorts in France and Andorra.

I am a bit of an adrenalin junkie so I love activities such as sky diving, snowboarding, white water rafting and I’m also a qualified Scuba Diver.

I am really excited to be working for Carnival and continue my career in the tourism industry, creating great holiday experiences. I look forward to meeting everyone… please come and tell me about your travels, I want to hear all about them!

Gemma Jones, Employee Communications Manager, Carnival UK

Hi, I’m Gemma and I’m excited to be part of the People Team at Carnival UK as Employee Communications Manager. You’ll see my name start to pop up on emails from Internal Communications and on The Insider – in fact, I wrote this article!

I’ve worked in marketing and communications for over 20 years, cutting my teeth in travel working for Sunsail producing brochures, and most recently in the retail sector at FatFace, planning and developing multi-channel marketing and communication campaigns.

I love to travel so I’m thrilled to be returning to the industry! I can’t wait to get stuck in and look forward to bringing our Culture Essentials to life, discovering and sharing your stories, and helping to play my part in creating unforgettable holiday happiness for our guests.

Aside from travel, I love music and festivals and can’t wait to get back to dancing in my wellies at the Isle of Wight Festival this year!

Jamie McKellar, Personal Cruise Advisor, P&O Cruises

Hi, I’m Jamie. I grew up on the streets of South Shields, which helped a lot in forging the man I am today.

I studied BSc Environmental Hazards at the University of Brighton, where I specialised in “the biological and chemical composition of flowing water, and what the potential hazardous effects are to human consumption”.

I am engaged to my beautiful fiancée, Jasmine, and we are planning on getting married in 2023. I love travelling and my favourite destination is Norway!

William Kimber, Personal Cruise Advisor, Cunard

Hi, I’m William. I previously worked for Holland America and Seabourn for almost two years, and Hays Travel before that.

I have been on nine cruise holidays with P&O Cruises, to a variety of destinations including The Far East, Caribbean, Mediterranean and The Baltics, plus a 10th cruise booked for December on Azura.

I am so pleased to be returning to Carnival UK and I look forward to getting started in my new role of Personal Cruise Advisor.

In my spare time I like to socialise with friends and I also attend rock gigs and festivals with my dad and friends.

Karolina Stachelska, Personal Cruise Advisor, P&O Cruises and Cunard

Hi, my name is Karolina. I graduated from Solent University in 2019 having studied International Tourism Management.

I have been working in customer service for the past 18 months and I am really looking forward to starting my new experience with Carnival UK.

Alfie Gadsby, Personal Cruise Advisor, P&O Cruises

Hi, I’m Alfie. I started my travel journey with TUI in 2014 as a Travel Advisor and soon discovered a flair for cruise holidays. Within two years I was part of the regional cruise team, with many ambitions to further myself.

Two years later I was promoted to Assistant Store Manager, plus Cruise Development Manager for the East Midlands region, looking after 22 stores at the age of 27.

I reached my goal, however I still wanted to learn more, so I went to work on board Marella Discovery in Shore Excursions & Future Cruise Sales, visiting the Adriatic, Greek Isles, Turkey, Malta and many more Mediterranean ports of call. I returned home in September 2019 to work for Iglu & Planet Cruise, with a goal of returning to sea with P&O Cruises… until the pandemic struck. I’ve now joined P&O Cruises as a Personal Cruise Advisor. Dream achieved!
