We recently shared our guide to hybrid ways of working with everyone who is typically based in Carnival House. If you are yet to read it, please use the link above.
Impact of latest Government announcement
On Monday 14 June, the UK Government announced a delay in the easing of lockdown restrictions in England, with the advice to work from home wherever possible remaining in place until at least 19 July. As such, Carnival UK has taken the decision to delay the opening up of Carnival House for more general use, a revised date is yet to be published.
Our original roadmap, set out in our hybrid ways of working guide, stated that the Corporate Shipbuilding neighbourhood of desks would be available to book from w/c 12 July, this will now be delayed and we will share a revised date once it’s known.
How to prepare to move to hybrid working
Whilst we know the news of a delay in being able to return to the office will be disappointing for some people, it does provide more time to prepare to move to a hybrid way of working.
As such, we now want to share with you a guide to provide further details to help you understand what you can expect to happen over the coming weeks, please click here to read it or use the link at the top of the page. This will include individual discussions with your line manager as well as discussions as a team.
Once Carnival House begins to open up, and we move towards hybrid working, remember our guiding principle has always been that work is something you do and not somewhere you go.
We can’t emphasise enough how important it is to remember that one size does not fit all and the detail on how hybrid works will be decided within your teams, and will require a willingness from everyone to experiment. Some things will work well, and others won’t, but that’s okay.
Should you have any questions, please speak to your line manager or a member of the LT, ELT or Services Teams who will be happy to help.
