Who knew that Gemma, our Finance guru (who has recently moved to Carnival UK) who is better known for her skills and expertise with numbers and Excel had such a talent for creative writing. We’re so grateful that Gemma put pen to paper and then made a recording of her poem about the Tour de Corporate Shipbuilding, it sums up the journey perfectly. You’ll find the words further down the page underneath the video if you want to read them.
To start us on a wellness journey,
Our leaders suggested we form some teams.
Unlike our daily workloads pending, it was
Running, cycling and some extremes,
Determined we would travel the globe,
Embracing each stage and in between.
Colleagues with daily communication,
On our way out of this isolation.
Racing ahead go the Shipbuilding Shufflers,
Pirates close behind, their tyres pushing through
Over the horizon the Phoenix is rising,
Right behind them the speedys surmising,
Attention to distance becomes ever more clear,
Together as we battle each distance, we endure.
Enjoying the scenery some of us do, with competitive craze taking over a few.
Sure it rains and its cold outside
Heath issues have pushed some, at times to the side
In light of it all we continue to ride.
Paddling surfers and puppies in the park,
Building our stamina and playing our part,
United we take on an enjoyable journey,
Imagining the goal, feeling ever more worthy.
Lots of pictures and memes we share
Defining our why, when and where.
Interesting stories to give us a laugh,
No goal is too much, for some to beat by half
Go on teams we have it in the bag, this Tour has certainly made us happy and glad.

I love this Gemma! Not sure that based on the current results Team Pheonix have it in the bag, but I’m certainly feeling a lot happier for trying 🙂
