Happy New Year to our Spectrum allies and our Carnival UK family!
Thank you also to everyone who joined the ‘Inclusion – Year in Review’ event, in partnership with Athena @ Carnival UK. In the session held online just before the festive break, we looked back at some of the impacts caused by the pandemic, with Spectrum spotlighting some of the key trending issues within the LGBT+ community.
As we head into 2021 there’s still a lot to focus on across the ever-growing LGBT+ agenda. With the promise of a vaccine to create more of a ‘norm’, there’s hope that the very visible LGBT+ platforms such as Pride, will once again take place to raise much needed awareness.
With this in mind, we wanted to share with you this thought-provoking article that really does highlight the inequalities that still exist globally for LGBT+ people, many in countries you wouldn’t expect.In the coming weeks we look forward to sharing with you Spectrum’s 2021 agenda to support LGBT+ inclusion at Carnival UK – look out for more here and on our Facebook group.
