As we enjoy the festive season, we caught up with Peter Redding, Chief Engineer, who told us about a very special display created on board Britannia.
“After seeing the creativity of two of my team; Alex Bautista, Waste Disposal Operator, and Marlon Pentason, TECR/assistance Store, during Halloween this year, I challenged them to create a festive scene using only recycled waste.
While the plan was initially to create a display that would sit outside the recycling centre, it slowly got bigger and bigger using lots of waste materials, as you can see in the photos!
Alex and Marlon used a mixture of cardboard, aluminium cans, plastic bottles, polystyrene, single use coffee capsules, used paper cups, styrofoam for packaging and disposed Christmas battery lights … to name just a few items!”
