With the festive season well and truly here, I want to end the year with a final message from me and the Carnival UK leadership team.
2020 has been a year like no other. I know I’ve said it many times but I mean it – your determination, fortitude and professionalism have been remarkable. When we set sail again, our Guests and our ships’ company will be in safe and secure hands. It might not have been the year we wanted but, looking back, it was a year that was managed in an exemplary fashion. The teamwork in particular was tremendous. We should all look back with great pride.
Looking to 2021, we’re all anxiously awaiting our return to service so that we can do what we do best – create unforgettable holiday happiness. With sister brands already sailing, a vaccine being rolled out worldwide and support from our loyal Guests, next year promises to be very positive (and a whole lot more fun than this year).
On a festive note, it was wonderful to see so many faces at the recent end of year updates and at our celebration event with Olly and Matt – I really hope you enjoyed the experience (and the super wines!).
Over the next couple of weeks, I hope as many of you as possible will be able to take a proper break to enjoy the festive season with your loved ones. Keep away from the emails and Zoom calls if you possibly can – we need everyone back, restored and refreshed. If you’re one of the few people working over the break to support the ships perhaps or to execute some critical IT, then my sincere thanks to you.
