With majority of the Marghera site team heading out on official sea trials today (14 October 2020) on board Costa Firenze, we share some photos of their final preparations in Palumbo Shipyard Malta, where they have been carrying out works in thrusters, diesel engine 3 and routine final dry docking activities including paint, anodes and final checks. The team is expected back in Marghera on Saturday 17 October.

Talking about the sea trials, Roberto Gonzalez, Building Manager for Marghera said:

“Sea trials are somewhat of a different experience in today’s world with enhanced and strict safety protocols to protect everyone on board from COVID-19, yet their importance remains as it has always been.

The focus of these trials is our team. Taking into consideration the extra mile everyone is going given the current situation in our industry, the site team has behaved in an extraordinary professional way and I’m proud to work with each and every one of them. They have highlighted how important it is to remain focused on our most important asset, our people, to continue to run our business.

With only the absolute minimum people in attendance on the trials, it takes a real team effort to complete all of the activities.”
