Once again Cunard and P&O Cruises are thrilled to be headline sponsors of Southampton Pride, the annual city-centre festival supporting the LGBT+ community.
However this year, like thousands of other live events across the world, Covid-19 is changing the way we celebrate so for the first (and hopefully only) time, Southampton Pride is going digital.
We’re dedicated to diversity and to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can bring their whole selves to work – everyone is welcome no matter how they identify. Since 2016 Cunard and P&O Cruises have been supporting Southampton Pride, a partnership led by Spectrum, Carnival UK’s employee-led LGBT+ & Friends network group.
Each year the Carnival UK Pride Squad volunteers from across the business have proudly marched in the Pride Parade, promoted our brands to potential Guests and colleagues, and showcased our Headliners Theatre Company talent on the centre stage. Last year we were even joined by P&O Cruises Food Hero, Eric Lanlard, who gifted his famous macarons to Pride visitors, and we gave away a Cunard voyage on Queen Mary 2!
This year La Voix, a regular special guest performer in Britannia’s Limelight Club, is headlining Saturday’s Main Show, and Simon Palethorpe, President Cunard and Carnival UK, has recorded a special message for everyone watching the event – take a sneak peek below!
