At Carnival UK we’re all Heroes of Safe and Well. Even during the current situation it’s important that we continue to strive for HESS Compliance through Commitment which is why we continue to recognise colleagues who go above and beyond in protecting the environment – and one such person is Dave Keating.

When the on board biodigester, a piece of machinery responsible for managing food waste, stopped working, Dave, Queen Victoria’s Environmental Officer, was able to lead a team to bring it back into operation as soon as possible.

Having experienced similar issues during his time on board Queen Elizabeth, he was able to take learnings from that experience and apply them to the task at hand, all while supporting and training the team on board Queen Victoria as he went.

Dave’s quick thinking and skill reduced food waste management issues and he was also able to up-skill his colleagues in the process. A fantastic example of working better together to protect our environment.

To recognise his initiative, and for living and breathing our core values, Dave was awarded a prestigious Environmental Compliance Plan (ECP) coin for his efforts. ECP Reward Coins are given to recognise colleagues for their commitment to the environment.
