With thousands of fundraising events cancelled due to coronavirus, charities across the UK have been hit hard. This means charities like our partner, Oasis Southampton City Farm, need our support more than ever.

That’s why we’re looking for volunteers to take part in the 2.6 challenge on Sunday 26 April for Southampton City Farm.

How is coronavirus impacting Oasis Southampton City Farm?

This time of year is when the farm would normally earn the majority of its valuable income. Closing their gates to the public is having a major impact on this, so they’ve launched an emergency appeal for donations. It means they’ll be able to continue to care for their animals, as well as the amazing work they do in the community.

What’s the 2.6 Challenge?

On Sunday 26 April, all you need to do is take part in an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26. It’s taking place on 26 April because this should’ve been the date of the 40th London Marathon, which raises millions for charity.

Want to take part? Follow these five simple steps:

  1. Dream up your 2.6 Challenge activity. You could jog 2.6 miles, collect 26 pieces of litter, juggle for 2.6 minutes, dance for 26 minutes – the ideas are endless. There are no rules, as long as you follow government guidelines. Click here for some inspiration.
  2. Register your challenge on our Just Giving page. Or you could set up your own if you have another charity close to your heart – we know there are many worthy causes.
  3. Share your challenge with family and friends and inspire your supporters by getting them involved too.
  4. Complete your challenge on Sunday
  5. Share your 2.6 challenge on social media with us by using the hashtags #TwoPointSixChallenge #carnival_uk_careers #carnivalukcomms

We’re looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
