Athena’s new mission statement
“Athena is passionate about equal opportunities for people regardless of gender. We raise visibility of gender issues and invite everyone to join the conversation, by doing this, we work with the business to influence meaningful change in the workplace. Athena inspires progress”.
If you want to be a progressive leader and a supportive colleague, Athena is for you. People who attend our events often tell us of an experience or a conversation they had that’s changed their perceptions, broadened their thinking to consider new perspectives, or sparked a debate that really challenged them.
Athena is not just for or about women. We discuss topics relating to all genders and our purpose is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to achieve their goals. This includes talking about fatherhood and paternity as well as the lack of senior women in our business amongst other topics.
Athena is a non-judgmental network, where people are encouraged to discuss their own views. We think that debate is healthy and so the more voices around the table the better

It was wonderful and really thought provoking to see representatives from all around the world and the different sectors of the tourism and travel industry to come together and discuss their challenges and best practice.
We can certainly learn from their experiences and enrich our own action plan on the back of this. It is exciting that we are already charting the course with Athena!
