What is your role?
My role is an IT Compliance Senior Analyst in the Security, Risk & Compliance Tam within Technology
What are your responsibilities?
My team’s overall responsibilities are to ensure that policies, procedures and legislation are adhered to. Working closely with our GISCS colleagues in the States, we also perform risk management, facilitate multiple annual audit engagements and track remediation plans. Part of my specific role is as the caretaker of our PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) compliance posture. I manage a Controls Framework on a rolling year-by-year basis, tracking essential monitoring and critical security activities in readiness for the annual PCI Audit (of which we are currently about 2/3 of the way through). In order for Carnival UK to continue to be legally permitted to process credit card payments, it is mandated that we successfully obtain the PCI Attestation of Compliance on an annual basis. I engage with multiple task owners in multiple areas within CUK (IT, Facilities, HR, Contact Centre) to make that happen.
What do you enjoy about your job?
Compliance is about getting from Point A (Non-Compliance) through to Point Z (Compliance) and my job is about making sure that steps B-Y happen!
What is your dream destination?
Even before I began working for Carnival in March 2019, my whole extended family has been into cruising and we regularly travel together as a tribe every year. At last count I have completed something like 25 cruises and all but 1 of those were with P&O Cruises. I have very fond memories of travelling on Oriana before it became adults only and some of the best places that I have ever been to are the island of Elba in Italy, Villefranche in the Côte d’Azur, and St Lucia in the Caribbean.
What is your guilty pleasure?
I am a huge geek when it comes to music, movies and comics, and my guilty pleasure is collecting Funko Pops (Google it!). I recently had to put up a new shelf in my spare room as I ran out of space, I am that much of a geek.
