During February, six of our newly appointed Senior Inspection Team Managers visited Southampton for a three day induction into their new role.
The course was designed to provide them with some core insights and knowledge into leadership and support their development into their new crucial role as people managers within the site teams.
The third day was a chance for the team to explore more about the role of a Senior Inspection Team Manager, looking at goal setting, engagement survey results and myHR portal, along with a session from Guy Johnston on the recruitment process and how to create an Individual Development Plan (IDP).
Finally there was a visit to the Southampton Office to meet some of the Southampton team and a chance to see the Carnival UK office. The team has given great feedback and confirmed that they found the induction to their new role very worthwhile.
Here’s what a few of them had to say about what they would be taking away, and implementing in their sites, from the induction:
- ‘Think like a leader’
- ‘Begin with the end in your mind’
- ‘Make colleagues feel safe’
For those who could not attend the training we will be arranging some training and development sessions remotely and hope to arrange future training once we have recruited to fill the other positions.
