Carnival UK’s Charity partner Southampton City Farm has had a great couple of months thanks once again to all of our amazing support from employees at Carnival house. See some of our highlights below including where we are at with our fundraising target, which teams have been busy having fun at the farm and a couple of standout moments to shout about.
Fundraising and Events
As you may know we’re committed to raising £25,000 by July next year. So far we’ve raised almost £10,000 from events such as the second bird table raffle organised by Dave Varty, The 12 days of Christmas competition and ‘Penny for the guy’ organised by the maritime team. Looking ahead we’ll be focusing on signing up Carnival UK employees to our Lake District triple challenge happening in June. We’ll also be looking for some budding talent to take part in our fundraising live lounge event following the theme of love and giving a nod to St Valentine’s Day coming up in February.
Volunteering
Once again the farm has been very fortunate from the positive participation of different teams and individuals. Everyone’s made a real difference from harvesting Halloween activities, to setting up wonderful winter wonderlands and getting to know the farm family including the animals. Check out some feedback from our Sales Partnership team from their rewarding day out in October.
“It was good to support a local community and pull back from the Sales World at work. It was good fun, good exercise and great to see how our couple hours support had an impact on making a change for the farm”.
