During the Christmas period many of us will give or receive gifts from our vendors or business partners so, to make sure you enjoy a merry and ethical Christmas, please remember our gift policy contained in the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. Here’s a quick reminder of the key points…
Gifts to or from anyone doing or seeking to do business with Carnival UK may be offered or accepted as long as they are:
1. Infrequent occurrences;
2. Not solicited;
3. Valued at no more than $200 USD or local equivalent; and
4. Not in the form of cash or checks (gift cards are acceptable)
5. If you receive a gift in excess of the above amount, you should return it if possible. If you cannot return it, please reach out to the Ethics and Compliance Department for additional guidance on disclosure and other obligations.
6. If you receive a gift basket or food item that exceeds $200 USD, this can be kept as long as you share it with your department. Just make sure you still disclose the gift to the Ethics and Compliance Department.
7. Any gifts with a market value under $200 USD or local equivalent, and which meet the other requirements above, can be enjoyed and don’t have to be disclosed.
Oh and don’t forget…fa la la la la, la la la la!
