Welcome to Shared Services’ Spotlight on!
Each month a colleague from Shared Services will have the spotlight put on them to share a little bit about themselves and their role. The baton is then passed on to another team to do the same. Ensure that you keep your eyes peeled to see if your team has been nominated!
Thank you to Newbuild and Hotel Refit’s Adrienne for being our first volunteer.
What is your role?
As the Director for Planning and Programmes in the Newbuild team, I am “chief cats herder” responsible for drawing together stakeholders and outputs from across the business for the successful delivery of Iona, Halifax and Gala 2.
What are your responsibilities?
I manage the overall programme for each new ship. The overall programme ensures that the activities carried out across the business hang together logically and collectively so objectives and outcomes are achieved.
Delivery of a new ship is about the new asset and all the business changes needed to operate the new ship such that we achieve the desired Guest experience. This means making sure that we have a clear scope of what is needed, we have an integrated plan to deliver this scope, we engage the right stakeholders at the right time and we address issues, risks and opportunities in a timely manner.
What do you enjoy about your job?
I enjoy the impact my job has on our Guests, our people and where we want to be as a company. And I love everything that comes with managing the delivery of epic programmes! And these are all epic programmes spanning the breadth of shipbuilding, changes to ways of working, organisation design, technology and substantial stakeholder engagement – I really enjoy bringing it all together, and seeing challenges and opportunities from the varied viewpoints of a very broad range of stakeholders.
What is your dream destination?
Anywhere that would give me a spectacular view of the Northern Lights
What is your guilty pleasure?
Watching “Cash in the Attic” when I’m home alone (but that’s no longer on the TV)
