Congratulations to Toni Turner, Administration Manager in Southampton who has been recognised by the Carnival UK HESS working group for her bright HESS idea to help reduce the number of plastic bottles consumed on board our ships.
Toni’s suggestion was to issue branded metal water bottles in each cabin, so that Guests can use them when on short excursions rather than plastic ones. As well as showing the world how seriously we take plastic usage, it would also be great advertising.
Guests could then be given the option to purchase their bottle as a keepsake from their holiday or the ship could re-use for the next Guest.
Toni saw this idea in practice when on board Queen Elizabeth in Alaska earlier this year and said it worked brilliantly. Thanks for sharing Toni, we hope you enjoy the bottle of Prosecco!
