In a multicultural company like ours, there are some things that are universal, where communication comes easy, and football is one of those things.

When our site team in Monfalcone (Italy) agreed to take part in a one-off football tournament, prior to the delivery of Costa Venezia back in February 2019, little did they know that a new tradition would be created. Since then, just before each ship delivery in Monfalcone, people from across the many parties involved take part in a football tournament.

On Thursday 3rd October 2019, in Ronchi dei Legionari near Trieste, almost 150 Princess Cruises crew members, including the Captain and Chief Engineer; shipyard directors and HR employees from Fincantieri, as well as representatives from our own site team took part in this very serious competition.

Talking about the importance of the tournament, Simone Pirisi, Building Manager for Monfalcone said:

“Who won is irrelevant of course, it’s the taking part and remembering to have fun together outside of our day to day working that really counts, but rest assured we will be getting that trophy back on the next delivery! This continued tradition is another perfect example that together we are better.”
