After a fantastic year of fundraising by P&O Cruises for our charity partner Teenage Cancer Trust, we’re absolutely delighted to be able to tell you that this month we’ve hit our target of raising £500,000 by the end of 2020 – over a year early!
Thank you so much to everyone in the fleet and on shore who’ve played a part in raising this incredible amount – which now stands at a little over £501,500. You’ve done this through on board activities like Trek the Deck and foreign currency donations, through sponsored events on land and through a whole host of other activities. We couldn’t have got here without each and every one of you, or without the continuing generosity of our Guests.
With your marvellous support the money that has been raised will enable Teenage Cancer Trust to provide over 15,000 hours of care from a specialist nurse, who knows what cancer really means to young people and can provide thoughtful, sensitive, expert support.
Thea Karavasili, Corporate Relationship Manager at Teenage Cancer Trust said, “We’re so grateful to P&O Cruises’ staff for their continued support, generosity, and enthusiasm to help young people with cancer. Through the amazing efforts of staff at Carnival House and around the world at sea we can ensure that we are one step closer to being there for every young person with cancer.”
About Teenage Cancer Trust
Teenage Cancer Trust are the only charity in the UK who specialise in providing age appropriate care and support to young people aged 13-25 facing cancer. Through their 28 hospital wards, specialised nursing staff and the work of youth support coordinators they ensure that they are there for young people all year round.
We may have hit our target, but we’re not going to stop there! Keep an eye out in the New Year for ways that you can get involved and for the launch of our new on board fundraising event – Brunch on Board – coming in February.
Thank you again from us and from our friends at Teenage Cancer Trust. We hope you have a great Christmas and a brilliant New Year.
