As we come towards the end of 2019 and the holiday season we want to celebrate one of the newest festivities – HESSmas! OK, we may have made that one up, but it is a big occasion in our HESS journey as we launch the HESS Charter – an evolution from our Safety Charter.
This lists our Goals, Commitments and Behaviours to showcase our vision for our HESS future. The Charter marks our promise as guardians who are leading, protecting and speaking up for our people, the environment and our brands.
The Charter was written to align us with the UK Chamber of Shipping Safety Culture Initiative, which Carnival UK is a member of. This is designed to encourage its ship owner and operating members to commit to promoting and adopting a positive safety culture within their organisations, leading from the top down.
This Charter is a big step towards making improvements in Health, Environment, Safety and Security to help drive continuous improvement across the wider maritime and cruise industry with the overall aim of reducing accidents and incidents.
