What is your role?
I am a Buyer for the Hotel team
What are your responsibilities?
I am responsible for Cabin Amenities, Flowers and Plants, Cleaning and Chemicals, Entertainment’s (sports equipment, seasonal decorations and religious items) and Branded Merchandise. I work closely with people within Carnival UK and with suppliers to ensure that the products that we have on our ships are good quality and also good value.
What do you enjoy about your job?
I love that I am able to make a difference. For example, the focus on single use plastic within procurement at the moment provides a really exciting opportunity to challenge pre-existing behaviours which is both really challenging, fascinating and exciting. Also where else would I get to look at Christmas trees and decorations in April in the name of work…
What is your dream destination?
Alaska. It just looks absolutely beautiful, I would love to visit the glacial lakes and also learn more about the Native American history and culture.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Marmite on pasta
