Hello everyone and a warm welcome to our new Shared Services page on the Insider.
It’s already been seven weeks since the coming together of SSO and our event at the Leonardo Hotel. It was great to see you all there taking the first step in forming our groups identity and enjoying a noisy reminder that we are better together.
I really do hope all of you enjoyed the day and in the time available learnt a little more about who we are and what we collectively do, for me the memory of being part of a 250 piece drum kit certainly hasn’t faded.
Many of you have told me that you are already starting to feel the benefits of working better together, as you spend time understanding and learning a different point of view or perspective, asking and offering help and celebrating successes.
These ways of working will help us build on the tremendous activities that you have been responsible for across the group recently: the Onboard Revenue team have launched brand partnerships with IWC watches on QM2 and Coccinelle on Britannia.

Facilities have made all our lives a little easier with the introduction of new meeting spaces (and happier with the introduction of Pizzas downstairs); IT, Supply Chain and Newbuild have collaborated to support a number of initiatives to get us ready for Iona’s launch, including a new point of sale and dining management system on Ventura; the Contact Centre and Facilities have been working to develop a chill-out space on the 1st floor for the team to recharge. Newbuild and the P&O team have marked a milestone in Iona’s build as the dome roof was lowered into place.

I know these inspiring achievements are just a small fraction of what you do each day. Working as one team will be central to our future success so I’m hoping you’ve all had a go at one of the three challenges – invite someone or attend a different team meeting, grab a coffee with someone you don’t yet know or work in a hot desk area in another Shared Services department.
