This year’s Summer of Happiness is framed around the idea of being the best version of yourself – a theme that has its roots both in our People Promise and in our leadership development approach. That’s why we caught up with Sarah Archer, shore learning & leadership manager, to learn more about how we’re developing our leaders through our ‘Better Me, Better Us’ events.

Better Me, Better Us is an open and collaborative forum for our senior team to discuss future learning and development opportunities for our leaders. Here’s what Sarah had to say about it…

“Having started in January my first six months have been some of the most enjoyable of my career so far. Recently I had the pleasure of immersing myself in the Leadership Expectations with a two-day tour of our three key pillars: Self Mastery, People Centricity and Results Focus. This is our Better Me, Better Us event that’s making its way to over 450 of our senior leadership team. 

The event highlighted the importance of understanding yourself as a leader and the impact you have on others whilst better connecting and engaging with your teams and people around the business.

It was fantastic with my absolute highlight being meeting and engaging with new colleagues, particularly our seafarers who had lots of knowledge to share. The activities were varied and valuable and the energy in the room at times was buzzing! I would highly recommend it to anyone who’s yet to attend. It will certainly enable you to explore how you can be the best version of you to help deliver unforgettable holiday happiness every day.”

Our Better Me, Better Us events will run throughout the remainder of the year and into 2020 so keep an eye out for your invite!
