What do our colleagues on board and Charlie, from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, have in common? They’ve been both searching for the Golden Ticket, of course!

This is what’s been happening on board over the past few months, as members of the HESS Culture team have been visiting the fleet to launch the HESS Golden Rules (left) – a simple set of rules which we can all use to continue to be aware, communicate and take appropriate actions in day-to-day working situations, whether on board or ashore.

The initiative, lead by Russell Hobbs, Director of Environment and Safety, was launched to the fleet in April through a series of ship visits which will end in August. During the ship visits, the on board Senior Management Team (SMT) and Operations team have had virtual reality HESS leadership training; and the wider ship’s company were invited to find the Golden Rules with a Golden Ticket activity as part of the launch.

The interactive launch of the Golden Rules on board has been met with great enthusiasm and commitment from all on board.

As the team gear up to deliver the remaining HESS Golden Rules ship launches, Elinor Bowes, CUK’s Health and Safety Manager, said: “We’ve visited half of the ships in the fleet and have had a really positive reception at all. Thank you to the SMT on board all the ships we have visited, who’ve been really helpful and inviting. It’s been great to see so many crew at the theatre events. Thank you to all the ship staff for getting involved and engaging with the roadshow.”
