In support of World Environment Day (5 June) and World Oceans Day (9 June) all this week, we’re highlighting ways you can be a HESS Hero and help us look after the world we live in.
Our environmental impact
What do you think about when you hear someone say ‘environment’? Your blossoming spring garden? The bees and the trees in the park? The tranquil rivers and creeks of Devon and Cornwall? The Carnival UK working ‘environment’?
The environment has many meanings to us all – and we’re all making a difference to it, bit by bit. As the renowned quote by Ryunosuke Satoro goes, “Individually we are one drop. Together we are an ocean.” And so it goes for the environment and the efforts we individually make on a daily basis and what we as an organisation make together.
If we look at the key achievements and milestones Carnival UK has achieved over the past few years, we can see the influence it’s having on our outlook and the impact on our journey. We’re on a HESS journey from compliance to commitment and by being HESS Heroes, we can all play a part in achieving this ambition.
As we celebrate World Environment Day and World Oceans Day this week, lets challenge ourselves to see what we know about the environment. Can you answer them all? Look out for our Insider features all this week to get the answers!
