Carnival House – Simon Flower, Vice President, Strategic Projects

Simon was nominated by colleague Irena Miniaylenko who said, “Recently, I had to do a speech in front of the Finance and Legal teams. I was very excited about this opportunity, but also very nervous at the same time. Simon asked if I was OK and suggested that we practise the speech together. He advised me on how to control my emotions, how to hold my posture to give confidence (both to me and the audience) and how to project my voice to the back of the room.
Despite his busy schedule, Simon showed concern both for my development and the anxiety I was showing regarding this opportunity. His support boosted my confidence and the coaching made me believe that I can do it. In the end, the speech went really well, I received some great feedback and it was an amazing experience. We need more leaders like Simon Flower.”
