As our journey continues from HESS Compliance to Commitment we’re recognising colleagues who go above and beyond in protecting the environment – and one such person is Bradley Sequeira.

Bradley was recently presented with an Environmental Compliance Plan (ECP) Reward Coin for his efforts on board Oceana – which has even spread across the rest of the fleet!

Environmental Compliance Plan (ECP) Reward Coins were introduced last year to recognise colleagues for their commitment to the environment.

So, what did Bradley do?

Bradley planned, compiled and initiated an excellent and robust ‘Pulper Station Management Plan’ along with his team, for 12 areas within Food and Beverage including the crew restaurants, Platehouse and pot wash areas.

The plan was detailed and demonstrated the proactive way Oceana is going to manage the separation of food waste better, making sure they reduce the potential of non-food items mixing with food waste.

Not only was the plan sent to the Senior Food and Beverage manager, he shared it with the rest of the fleet as best practice. It was then also shared with Glenn Reynolds-Viljoen – VP Guest Experience and Russell Hobbs  – Director, Safety & Environmental who appreciated it so much that they included the plan within their Operational Directive 02/2019.

Bradley said “I personally take the environmental and safety matters very seriously. I feel honoured and recognised to have received the ECP coin”.
