The 3,560-guest Regal Princess was recently involved in the rescue of two pilots whose private aircraft went down in the Caribbean Sea.
Both were picked up by Regal Princess, to the cheers and applause of watching guests, after the ship was asked to attend the scene by the US Coastguard. The pilots then attended the ship’s medical centre, with the onboard doctors swiftly giving them a clean bill of health ‘without a scratch on them’.
Captain Tim Stringer, who was at the helm throughout the operation, said it ‘was the best outcome we could all hope for’.
