In March Carnival UK showed their support for Global recycling day and colleagues shoreside and on board have joined in with the campaign showing their support for more awareness of recycling across the business.

Britannia’s Housekeeping team went the extra mile to demonstrate their support by thinking of ways to recycle waste on board and encourage colleagues to do the same as well. Not only did they create some incredible pieces of art in the process, but by using waste items from on board, they raised awareness of recycling with their colleagues on board too.

Norine ,Hotel Assistant, created a fully recyclable fort, turrets and moat included.  A fantastically creative effort!

Steve, Housekeeping assistant, stuck with a nautical theme and created a beautiful ship, with swimming pool and Bridge features.

Siegfried, Florist, Peter, Public Area Housekeeper and Lloyd, Deck Housekeeper, also contributed by creating various practical items from non recyclable plastic bottles. Items included a broom and duster, plant pot and even a life jacket!

Captain Paul Brown commended the Housekeeping team’s support for Global Recycling Day and we think they did a fantastic job too. Well done Britannia!

Global Recycling Day first started in 2018 to help recognise and celebrate the important role recycling plays in protecting our precious primary resources and securing the future of our planet. It’s a day for the world to come together and put the planet first, something we’re committed to through our Oceans Alive programme.
