From 17 September the majority of shoreside colleagues (excluding Mumbai, QM2 Refit Team, Cognos Users, and Mac Users) will have had the Microsoft Office 365 (O365) suite installed on their computer, with access to the updated versions of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote.

For our Fleet colleagues, the Senior Management Team and Onboard IT will receive Video Access to Teams and windows users will receive chat only.

What are the benefits of the O365 suite?

We now have one place where we can use the correct tools to do anything we want.  For example if we want to work on a Word file and would like somebody to co-author the file we can simply give them permission and we could work on it simultaneously and even write comments to each other on the side.  Once completed we could then send this link to our Team chat and keep everyone in the project updated.

  • You can access the Office 365 Suite from anywhere.
  • You will always have the latest version of Microsoft Office 365.
  • There is only one file, and it’s always the most up to date version.
  • Provides an agile way of working regardless of whether you are at home or in the office.

What’s next?

From the end of September we’ll be preparing and starting to pilot Outlook with our focus groups.  We’ll start small by rolling it out to our O365 project team. Our ongoing deployment plan is in progress and you’ll receive an email to let you know before we roll out Outlook to you and to advise you of training sessions available.  We’re planning for ship and shore colleagues to receive Outlook by the end of October.

Will there be any training provided?

Absolutely! Our L&D Team have been working hard to produce a suite of training materials for our ship and shore colleagues to access 24/7, access is via The Insider, YouTube and Microsoft Teams and includes quick guides, videos and more detailed guides.  They’ll also be providing live training sessions over Teams. We’ll let you know all the training dates available as we get closer to the roll out.

In the mean time all current training material is available here. (Material is being added regularly – so please remember to check back.)

Fleet colleagues:  As well as the above mentioned online training, we’re also looking at an offline solution  – we’ll keep you updated as this becomes available.

If you experience a technical problem with your computer please contact the service desk on 02381 65 6000. Or, if you have any non-technical queries about Microsoft Office 365 please contact the project team at:  O365@CarnivalUKgroup.com
