What skills and qualities are needed?
A representative should be able to represent the voice of their colleagues and able to report the ‘as is’ view back to the group, focussing on having great, open and honest conversations with their colleagues. They should be champions of change, encouraging their colleagues to adapt a solution focused mind set. Read the role profile here.
How much time will it require?
Employee experience group representatives will be expected to attend all Employee Experience group meetings over the year’s term. Time required for the role will be 1-2 days per month.
How do I put myself forward?
If you wish to put yourself forward, you will need to submit a nomination to explain why you want to be an Employee Experience group representative and what you will bring to the role. You should discuss this with your line manager who should back your nomination.
How is the group constructed?
The number of seats in an Employee Experience group will vary according to the needs of the business unit:
- This should work on an average ratio of 1:20-25 with no less than 6 and no more than 12.
- There should be a least 1 representative per director per business area
- If the number of nominations received in a business area is more than the number agreed then the SLT should consider the nominations received and select a mix that fulfils the criteria above and ensures a well blended mix of levels and skills
What if a member leaves?
If an Employee Experience group representative moves on from their business area then they should step down from their role as representative for that area. If there is no other representative for the director they worked with then the group should look to replace them.
The Employee Experience Manager will be able to give guidance on this.
