What is a reasonable adjustment?
Reasonable adjustments are there to remove or minimise any disadvantages that can impact your physical or working environment. A survey conducted by the Business Disability Forum (www.businessdisabilityforum.org.uk) found that 73% felt that the adjustments had made a positive difference in removing some of the barriers in the workplace.
Many adjustments can be simple, for example:
- being flexible about hours to support assessments, treatment or rehabilitation
- providing a reader or interpreter
- providing different equipment, for example a chair with back support.
