We’ve got some exciting news, tickets for our exclusive Carnival UK Seaside in the Square event are available from today!
On 6 August we’ve got exclusive hire of the seaside in the square venue at Guildhall Square, Southampton and we’ve got a whole day of exciting events planned exclusively for you.
To ensure everyone gets to attend a session of their choice we’re inviting all employees based at Carnival House to book ONE daytime session (08:00 – 16:00) and ONE evening session (16:30 – 22:00).
Our day sessions include
08:00 – 09:00 Breakfast on the beach
Join us for yoga and meditation with specialist instructors from 08:00. To fuel you for the day we’ll be serving complimentary breakfast and smoothies too.
09:00 – 11:00 or 14:00 – 16:00 Family Session
This session is for you and your family (up to four of your children and one additional adult) to enjoy. We’ve got giant games, arts and crafts with Solent Showcase, pop up theatre performances from Out of Bounds Theatre Production, a free play court for volleyball, football, beach tennis, turn ball and more, as well as a treasure hunt for the younger ones and storytelling courtesy of YMCA.
11:30 – 13:30 Wellness session
Take a break from your desk and lounge at the beach. We’ll be hosting yoga, meditation and boot camp classes with specialist instructors for those looking for a bit of activity. Our free play court will also be open for volleyball, football, beach tennis, turn ball and more. Plus we’ll be joined by Orange rooms who will be providing bar service as you enjoy live performances from local musicians.
And our evening sessions include
16:30 – 18:30 Chill Out Party
After a long day at work what better way is there than to spend the evening chilling out on the beach? All attendees can expect to enjoy a drinks reception courtesy of Britvic as well as enjoy some Caribbean style entertainment. Kick back, relax and enjoy a sociable evening on the beach.
19:00 – 22:00 Carnival Night
At 19:00 the party will come to life! All attendees can expect to enjoy a drinks reception courtesy of Britvic plus we’ll have samba dancers, a special finale performance and live music throughout the night.
Tickets for all sessions will be made available on a first come first served basis.
Once you’ve made your booking please keep a copy of your confirmation, you will need this to redeem your appropriate wrist band for your session, week commencing 29 July.
Please note that the Guildhall Square, where this event takes place, is just a short 15 minutes walk – however if you do require mobility support we will be arranging transport to ensure everyone can attend. Please respond appropriately to the mobility question included in the booking process.

Your questions answered
To help you understand what’s on offer and what to expect we have answered some frequently asked questions below. If your question is not included please post it in the comments box of this article and we will get back to you within 72 hours.
Why can I only attend one session in the day and one in the evening?
We want everyone to have a great time and be safe whilst on site at Seaside in the Square. To ensure safety isn’t compromised we have limited capacity for each session whilst still ensuring that everyone gets the chance to attend a session of their choice without being overcrowded. What’s more, by offering multiple sessions we are able to offer a more diverse event so there is something for everyone.
Can I bring my partner or friend?
Our summer event is a celebration of our people and the great work that you do every day. We want to allow all of our people to have the opportunity to attend a session of their choice and so for that reason all sessions, with the exception of the family sessions, are for employees only.
Our family sessions for 2019 replace our usual bring your child to work days. To make things fair anyone who chooses to take part in these sessions should allow enough time to collect / drop off their children or partner within the two hour time frame of the session.
Will there be food and drink?
We are currently working with local suppliers on the food and drink options available and will confirm what the offer will be in the lead up to the event.
In the meantime we can confirm that we will have Orange Rooms on site serving soft drinks from 12:00 until 16:00 before opening a full bar (including alcohol) from 16:30 – 21:00. All drinks from Orange Rooms will be chargeable.
Britvic will be providing a free drinks reception for all guests attending either the chill out party from 16:30 or the Carnival nights session from 19:00.
What ages are the activities suitable for at the family session?
We will have activities for all ages from teen to under 1 year old. All children must be supervised at all times.
If I attend one session can I just stay on for the next session?
All sessions are bookable and for your own safety we will be checking wristbands to ensure we don’t have too many people on site. You are welcome to stay for the following session (with approval from line management if during the day) however if we reach capacity you will be asked to leave the site so that we can allow all participants to attend the session that they have booked.
