To mark the occasion of 10 Years at Carnival House we are proud to confirm that we’ve negotiated an extra 10 years on our existing 20 year lease for Carnival House. We’re here to stay!
As our business continues to grow we know that it’s important that we continue to make improvements to Carnival House to make sure the spaces we use provide a positive and productive environment to work. We’re doing this through a number of improvements, some of which you will have already noticed.
Improvements include;
Private Pods – We know that sometimes you might need space for a quick conversation with colleagues about confidential or sensitive information. That’s why we are installing two sound proof carriage style pods. These will be installed alongside the glass looking into the Atrium, with the exception of floor 2 west who will be able to use one of the existing pods near the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) area.
Open Pods – When it comes to finding solutions and creating the best results we are a great believer in working better together and collaboration. We’re installing two open pods on every floor alongside the glass wall overlooking the atrium. Pods include a table, power and phone charging capabilities.
Larger Meeting Space – Carnival UK currently has multiple projects underway to make sure our new ships are ready for service so that we can offer the best possible product and experience for our Guests. Due to this some of our larger meeting rooms have been allocated for project use. To ensure there are enough meeting rooms for business as usual use we are converting three existing meeting rooms in to larger spaces. On floor 3, Crete will become an open 10 person space and Trinidad on floor 2 and Visby on floor 1 will be extended from a 4 person rooms to 14 person bookable spaces. These rooms will feature standing tables with some stools to allow for larger ‘overflow’ meetings to take place if required.
[pullquote]Did you know? Standing throughout the day has been proven to decrease fatigue and support productivity.[/pullquote]
Bookable rooms – We’re making the most of the spaces we have available and converting four additional non bookable rooms into bookable rooms. These will be Auckland and Acapulco on floor 4, Curacao on floor 2 and Corfu on floor 3.
Private phone booth trial – That’s not all; we’re also trialling sound proof phone booths on floor 1, encouraging everyone to take private mobile phone calls in these spaces instead of using meeting rooms that could be used by larger groups. The phone booths will be installed shortly on floor 1 North and we want to know what you think – try them out and email your feedback to Jon.Leyman@carnivalukgroup.com

Carnival House created the opportunity for all Carnival UK staff to come together under one roof. Having previously been split over 5 separate buildings across Southampton, being in one building allows us to more easily understand and share a common purpose and physically be better together.
What’s not to like….people, atmosphere, feeling like you matter, creating “Holiday Happiness”..but most of all Fish Finger Ciabatta’s on Friday!
This is my 2nd time back at carnival house! And I’m so glad I was able to get another opportunity to return! Its an amazing place to work and I also feel lucky to have joined such a great team! Also working somewhere where the business really cares about their staff is a big win for me there aren’t many out there so its refreshing to see and be part of!
Prime location and floor to ceiling windows means looking out the window some days is like being in a Cruise Ship Candy Store. This view means I am able to easily connect ship to shore, and helps bring purpose to my job.
I love the balance of Carnival House; it manages to remain sociable and hospitable in such an open and polished building. The open plan design and big spaces make it ideal for working together better; whether it’s popping along the office floor to catch up with a colleague, or hosting third parties in our atrium it is really conducive to great conversation and collaboration which is my favourite thing! All this while remaining professional and sleek in appearance makes it the perfect space for inspiration. And there is always a quiet spot for some down time if that’s what you need.
I’ve been here for 6 weeks and I love how light and airy the atrium is, it’s welcoming, relaxing as well as giving us a strong sense of identity, there no place like it.
Amazing company to work for, I love the people I work with and I enjoy coming to work. It’s always such a great atmosphere within the office and we all support each other when we have difficult or sensitive conversations with guests.
The people inside it.
I love how inclusive the people are at Carnival House. As an American who has recently moved to the UK, my team has become like my family and quickly embraced me as one of their own. They went as far as celebrating 4th of July with me, and we are already in the process of planning Thanksgiving. I also love the location of Carnival House and proximity to town and the docks. It is always fun to be able to pop out to West Quay to watch Wimbledon, walk past the historic Bargate, see what cruise ship is in for the day, and to have the convenience of Southampton on our doorstep. Carnival House is the most open and airy office I have worked in and I love how there are multiple areas to work collaboratively with my peers.
Every day when I approach the building I smile, as I feel so proud to work here. Our team in Guest Relations deal with negative comments every day, but our better together and fun attitude enables us to turn these comments around and it’s Holiday Happiness all the way for us 🙂
Been here for 2 and half years and love walking up to the building and also the places to eat your lunch such as balconies etc!
What’s not to love working for Carnival. I enjoy coming to work ok I do have bad days but the good out weigh these. The atmosphere is great when we have get together’s there is always a buzz and the company gives so much back to the employees I remember when I first started I couldn’t believe all the little extras we were given. I love seeing the ships in Southampton always makes me feel proud that I work towards selling Holiday Happiness to our Guests. Thank you for creating such a great place to work with a fantastic team within the Contact Centre, we all work together as one big happy family and are there for each other both personally and professionally.
The roof terrace is by far my favourite place in the building. Being able to go up there on a hot, sunny day and look out over the water at our ships is a luxury that far too many either don’t appreciate or take advantage of. Having said that, I do think that there is so much more we could do with that space to encourage people to use it for meetings / 1-2-1s / etc. and take some of the pressure off the meeting rooms inside
Having worked onboard P&O Cruises & Cunard Line for the pass 6 years, creating amazing memories and experiences of a life time. It was time for me to rest my anchor and continue my journey within Carnival House and I have been for the pass 2 months as guest relations.
This role has been an eye-opener and having knowledge of both sea & land life of cruising has a fantastic advantage. The team here have been lovely, welcoming and know when you need a smile put on your face.
Within Carnival House I have learnt how much we do for our guests and also multiple charities , making all staff aware we all have a place to help either with environment, volunteer, guest experiences and many more. Thank You =)
I love how we’re continuously improving the spaces in Carnival House and have made such great improvements over the last two years. More spaces for meetings is a great and much needed step, and should help free up the atrium from being used for overflow meetings. Not having to use a large room for 1-2-1 chats should help a lot!
I love the location and also the roof space
Carnival is an amazing company to work for, mainly because of the friendly, inclusive people. Everyone in the Guest Relations/Services department well together and this extends to other departments in the company. Carnival also offers so many unmatched opportunities you wuoldn’t be able to access anywhere else!
Such a welcoming and impressive office to work in. I love the way the atrium space is used for all the exciting events as there is always something going on. I am very proud to work here.
A welcoming feel from the out and a friendly feel within! After more than 15 years service with the company I have always felt happy and such a massive bonus to be part of an award winning holiday company!
While the people go without saying – the magnificent, awe-inspiring architecture of the glass atrium & the fantastic views from the roof-top terrace in the Summer sun simply can’t be beat.
An iconic building, well known in Southampton. Its a great space to work in and has stood the test of time
