Employee experience group – chair role profile

The chair of the employee experience group will ensure that meetings run smoothly and are an open environment where the Employee Experience group can freely discuss and share views that are current within their business area. They will support representatives to feel comfortable questioning openly and freely in a collaborative manner whilst gently challenging them to ensure insight is representative rather than an individual view. They will drive the group to identify actions and next steps from insight shared and make sure that these are well constructed, time bound and with an appropriate owner.

Responsibilities

The Employee Experience group chair will be required to:

  • Set the agenda and have a clear understanding of what needs to be achieved during the meeting
  • Remain neutral throughout
  • Ensure Employee Experience group representatives remain focussed and to time
  • Ensure actions are agreed and assigned owners and a timescale
  • Encourage all Employee Experience group representatives to participate
  • Ensure that no one person dominates the agenda or discussion
  • Be confident in their ability to facilitate an effective Employee Experience group meeting, including dealing with conflict
  • Carry out their duties to the best of their ability and in the best interests of the business as a who
  • Build relationships and work closely with their leadership team and other Employee Experience group members
