Embarking your ship in Istanbul, Türkiye

Electronic travel authorisations (ETAs) and declarations (ETDs) are likely to become more common in the future. Many countries are adopting ETAs and ETDs to enhance security and streamline the entry process for visitors.  Because countries are introducing this electronic process at different timeframes, it’s important that you check with your Global Talent Partner / Crew Compliance team what requirements exist in your destination for your nationality.

List A – Visa Nationals requiring Visa upon arrival at the airprt + OKTB letter from their GTP prior to travelling

List C –Visa nationals with Consulate visa obtained in home country

List B – Visa free Nationals will proceed with normal Passport + Seaman Book

Visa free nationals (List B) Upon arrival at the airport, please proceed towards Passport Control and submit your Passport to Immigration officer for stamping, then proceed to luggage area.
After you collect your luggage exit the airport building from Gate No 9 where a representative will be waiting for you with a Ship Signage.

Visa nationals List A upon arrival at the airport, please proceed through to meet by a representative in front of the Passport Control Cabin 3 by following the arrows marked on the map below, in the terminal building.

Here please contact the airport staff assigned to receive you and get in touch with the Port Agent who will support with your visa application. This process typically takes approximately 2 hours. Once your visa formalities are completed, airport staff will escort you to meet our colleagues, who will arrange your transportation to the hotel or vessel.

After disembarking the aircraft, please proceed directly to passport control. Once you have cleared passport control, collect your luggage from the baggage claim area. After collecting your luggage, exit the airport and proceed to Column No. 11. From Column 11 (below), use the pedestrian crossing to cross the street. After crossing, you will see “Simit Sarayı”. Our colleagues will be waiting for you there to arrange your transportation to the hotel or vessel.

Upon arrival, please proceed directly to passport control. At passport control, inform the immigration officer that you are a seafarer and require a Visa on arrival to be processed. The immigration officer, together with airport staff, will assist you with the visa formalities. This process typically takes approximately 2 hours.

Once your visa formalities are completed, airport staff will escort you to meet our colleagues, who will arrange your transportation to the hotel or vessel.

If you are missing luggage, please file a claim with the airline PRIOR to leaving the airport.

If your luggage is lost during your journey, please provide the address of the Istanbul Port Agent (below) and include the name of the ship you are due to embark:

A copy of the claim should be kept for your records. You must notify Crew Manager aboard your ship as soon as possible. The Crew Manager will inform the Port Agent in Istanbul together with sending a copy of the Claim Report.

Note: In Istanbul Airport only, the lost lugagge can only be picked up in person by the seafarer, therefore upon notification received from the airline , the Port Agent will arange a transfer from ship to the airport to help you pick up your lugagge.

If joining same day, and Visa free nationals (List B) you will be met by a representative at Gate No 9 holding a Ship Signage and be taken straight to the ship terminal.

If joining same day, and Visa nationals (List A and List C) once your visa formalities are completed, airport staff will escort you to meet our colleagues, who will arrange your transportation to the vessel.

After collecting your luggage, exit the airport and proceed to Column No. 11. From Column 11 (below), use the pedestrian crossing to cross the street. After crossing, you will see “Simit Sarayı”. Our colleagues will be waiting for you there to arrange your transportation to the hotel.

Once your visa formalities are completed, airport staff will escort you to meet our colleagues, who will arrange your transportation to the hotel or vessel.

If you are joining the next day, you will be met by a representative at the meeting point described above and taken to one of the below hotels

If you are joining the next day of your arrival in Istanbul Port Agent representative will be taking you to one of the below hotels.

All hotel bookings are made on a dinner, bed, and breakfast basis.  Depending on your arrival time at the hotel, lunch may also be included. 

All incidental charges, such as phone, mini bar, in room movies, baggage handling etc. will be charged to your account and must be paid by you upon check out.

MEALS

Meal allowances are organized by Carnival UK.  The hotel will inform you of your allowance on check-in. 

Please be ready in the lobby for pick up no later than 08:00AM, unless told otherwise at check in. If a transportation issue arises, ask the hotel reception to contact the Port Agent.
