In the main, most participants clocked up their KMs for the Tour by walking, running or cycling but Tuur managed to get in 25KM on his kayak in one trip!

Making the most of the reduced working hours he and Philip decided to take the journey across to the Isle of Wight, setting off from Hamble point and paddling past Calshot to Cowes crossing the shipping lanes three times.

They enjoyed a spot of lunch up the river in Cowes with a Guinness to fuel themselves for the way back. This extra boost of iron worked wonders as on the way back they paddled faster than a 30ft sailing boat!

The only downside of the trip is that as they had lunch on a pontoon, Tuur technically still hasn’t been on the Isle of Wight, there’s always next time…
