As part of our ‘Summer of Happiness – my best me’ campaign this year we’re proud to confirm that Carnival UK are headline sponsors of this year’s Seaside in the Square which includes exclusive access for our employees on 6 August!
The event which runs from 19 July – 11 August sees the Guildhall Square turned into an urban beach during the summer, complete with sand, beach-side bar and places to relax. It features an action-packed programme of free entertainment, including everything from live music and craft workshops to fitness classes, yoga and skateboarding, providing something for all our people.
At Carnival UK we’re passionate about the happiness of our people and encouraging each and every one of us to be the best version of ourselves. We know that the best version is usually the happiest version and Seaside in the Square is set to provide lots of opportunities to create happiness for not just our people but everyone in Southampton and beyond.

Seaside in the Square is free to attend and open every day from early morning to late evening. For full details of the events included pick up a programme from any kitchen area at Carnival House or take a look at the large programme boards displayed around the building.
Carnival UK’s exclusive event – 6 August
But that’s not all, we’re also really excited to announce that Carnival UK have exclusive hire of the Seaside in the Square venue for an exclusive summer event this year – make sure 6 August is in your diary.
We’ll be inviting all employees to join us for one day session and one evening session and with the line up of activities we have for you, there really is something for everyone.
8:00 – 9:00 Breakfast on the beach
Join us for Yoga and meditation with specialist instructors from 8:00 and enjoy the first look at the exclusive Carnival UK event venue too.
9:00 – 11:00 Family session
This session is for you and your family (up to four of your children and one additional adult) to enjoy. We’ve got giant games, arts and crafts with Solent showcase, pop up theatre performances, a free play court for volleyball, football, beach tennis, turn ball and more, as well as a treasure hunt for the younger ones and storytelling courtesy of YMCA.
11:30 – 13:30 Wellness session
Take a break from your desk and lounge at the beach. We’ll be hosting yoga, meditation and boot camp classes with specialist instructors for those looking for a bit of activity. Have massage and Reiki for those looking for some pampering. Our free play court will also be open for volleyball, football, beach tennis, turn ball and more. Plus we’ll be joined by Orange rooms who will be providing bar service (soft drinks only until 16:30) as you enjoy live performances from local musicians.
14:00 – 16:00 Family session
To allow as many families as possible to join us we’re offering two chances for you to bring your family (up to four of your children and one additional adult) along for a few hours on the beach. As per the earlier session we’ve got giant games, arts and crafts with Solent showcase, pop up theatre performances, a free play court for volleyball, football, beach tennis, turn ball and more, as well as a treasure hunt for the younger ones and storytelling courtesy of YMCA.
16:30 – 18:30 Chill out party
After a long day at work what better way is there than to spend the evening chilling out on the beach? All attendees can expect to enjoy a drinks reception courtesy of Britvic as well as enjoy some Caribbean style entertainment. Kick back, relax and enjoy a sociable evening on the beach.
19:00 – 22:00 Carnival Night
At 19:00 the party will come to life! We’ll have samba dancers, a special finale performance and live music throughout the night. Get ready to samba the night away!
All sessions will be bookable (Contact Centre to register their interest) from 19 July.
Want to get a first look at the venue?
Go Southampton invite all Carnival UK employees to attend the Seaside in the Square launch night on Friday 19 July. From 19:00 until 23:00 enjoy DJ’s, live music and free entry to Cafe Parfait before midnight.
