We’ve partnered with Aviva to bring you unlimited free access to their Aviva Digital GP mobile app. Aviva Digital GP, powered by Square Health, provides quick, around the clock access to GP video consultations and repeat NHS prescriptions – all at the touch of a button.
We know that accessing GP services can be difficult. With virtual medical appointments, you can have a consultation with a doctor, a session with a physiotherapist and even a chat with a psychotherapist – all without having to leave your home.
The benefits you can look forward to:
Unlimited video consultations, 24/7: book an appointment in-app with an NHS-registered private GP.
Choice of GP: choose your GP by gender or choose to see the same GP who you’ve seen previously via the app, within the last six months. Review GP bios and select a GP based on your needs and the GP’s profile.
Repeat NHS prescriptions: You can order prescribed repeat medication within the app (all NHS England exemptions accepted) and get free UK delivery.
Consultation advice: After your GP consultation, you can see the advice you’ve been given and consultation history within the app.
Your children under 16: You can add your children under the age of 16 to your account for paediatric consultations, with a limit of 10 children per member – this applies whether you are a member of the Carnival PMI scheme or not. However, your spouse or partner will only have access if they are part of your chosen benefit level in the Carnival PMI scheme (i.e. if you have selected Family or Couple cover). Equally if you’re not part of the Carnival PMI scheme, aside from the ability to add children under age 16, the Digital GP service only applies to you as an employee.
Support for menopause: Through the menopause service within the app you can book a 30 minute consultation with a menopause trained health professional. As menopause can affect both the individual and those closest to them, this service can be used by anyone over the age of 16 who is eligible to access Aviva Digital GP. There is also an information hub offering practical tips and support to help address and manage menopause symptoms as well as a symptom assessment tool that generates a tailored pre-consultation report.
When time matters: Video consultations can help save time, with no need to visit your GP surgery. You could have an appointment in as little as 30 minutes and appointments can be booked 24/7. Your appointment slot will last up to 15 minutes.
Health warning
Although the service is aimed at helping us stay safe and well, as well as making a GP appointment much more convenient, you should bear in mind that a Digital GP won’t have access to your past medical records. So therefore, in some circumstances you should consider if this is the most appropriate route for an appointment. Equally, there may be times when medical attention is needed at a greater level so always consider whether you should be getting in touch with either the 111 or 999 services rather than arranging a Digital GP appointment.
Accessing the app
Aviva Digital GP is available to residents of Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man at home or abroad. You can download the Aviva Digital GP app at any time. The current access code is 507859.
