Over the past few weeks, P&O Cruises crew have shown that the spirit of competition and collaboration extends far beyond the ocean waves!

Britannia vs. Oasis of the Seas

On Tuesday, 18 November, the Britannia Football Team welcomed players from Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas for a thrilling 5-a-side tournament at the Arena court while alongside in Aruba.

Sporting their brand-new kit – thanks to Saints Foundation and Southampton FC, proudly sponsored by P&O Cruises – Team Britannia put on an impressive display. After five intense 10-minute matches, Britannia emerged victorious with a 2–1 win.

This result means Britannia’s unbeaten record in Europe now proudly stretches into the Caribbean!

Azura vs. Aida Cosma

Just days later, Azura’s crew enjoyed some fantastic football matches in Funchal, Madeira, as they faced off against colleagues from Aida Cosma.

Coordinated with HR Manager at Aida Cosma and supported by port agents, both teams travelled together to the local stadium.

The match was a nail-biter! Azura started strong with two early goals, but by halftime, the score was level at 3–3. In the second half, Azura pulled ahead, finishing with a 5–3 victory.

Beyond the goals and tackles, this event was all about building friendships cross brands.

And it wasn’t all Football matches …

Azura vs. Iona

Iona and Azura also organised an exciting Basketball Tournament during a port of call in Tenerife. Well done to Team Iona who took the win!

Well done to everyone who helped make all of these matches possible.

These events allow crew to take a well-earned break from ship-life and showcase incredible camaraderie across the cruise industry. Got a story to share? Get in touch with Internal.Comms@carnivalukgroup.com
