Seabourn was proud to announce the naming of their second ultra-luxury expedition ship in a unique and historic ceremony in Australia’s, Kimberley, on 29 June, followed by a celebration in Carnival House.
In Australia guests were on Zodiacs alongside the ship and the onboard team lined up on deck, while the Wunambal Gaambera Traditional Owners named Seabourn Pursuit, Tradional Owners are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians who are still connected to the Country of their ancestors and most consider themselves the custodians or caretakers. This is the first time Traditional Owners have named a ship.
Lynn Narraway, VP UK & EMEA, said: ‘We really wanted to share this very special occasion with the wider team within Carnival UK, so we decided to stage a celebration at Carnival House on 3 July featuring lots of home-made Australian cakes (baked by our own Louise Gould!) and cuddly toys – as well as the chance to learn more about Seabourn Expeditions. We’d really like to thank everyone who came down to the Atrium on Wednesday to celebrate Seabourn Pursuit’s naming, take part in our ‘selfie’ competition to win a fluffy Wallaby or Molton Brown product – and to join in the fun’.
We had lots of selfie submissions so picking a winner was difficult, but the lucky ‘Wallaby’ winners are Charlotte Humphrey, Matt Laud, Deborah Vernon, Paul Kenny, Sarah Wing, Silvia Brent, Klaudya Grecu. Nicola Berry & Audrey Hobby are the winners of Seabourn’s exclusive Molton Brown. Please contact Louise Gould to get your prize!
