As Arvia sailed through a summer season packed with unforgettable holiday happiness for record-breaking numbers of guests, her crew were equally busy creating memories. From national celebrations to spiritual gatherings and fitness fun, August was a month full of activity.
Celebrating 3 Nations’ Independence Days
Despite the hustle of turnaround days, Arvia’s crew came together to honour the independence days of Pakistan (14 August), India (15 August) and Indonesia (17 August).
Celebrations included a Gala dinner, lively 3 nations quiz, a best dressed competition and a Bollywood disco.
Ganesh Chaturthi: A Festival of Faith and Togetherness
Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated with deep devotion and creativity. The team spent a month preparing a stunning set from scratch for Ganesh Chaturthi, dedicating time each evening to bring it to life. Once the festival began a Ganesh idol was placed, daily prayers held and sweets shared as blessings, symbolising joy, prosperity and good relationships. Over 200 crew took part is this 7 day celebration!
Weekly Bhajan & Prayer Meet
In the lead-up to Ganesh Chaturthi, a small group began a weekly Bhajan meet every Thursday evening. These gatherings offered a peaceful escape from daily stresses, with devotional singing, chanting and spiritual discussions. A celebration of Indian cultural traditions like Kirtan and Bhaktigeet and a chance to connect with faith and find a moment of calm.
Summer Spinning with Staff Captain Dawid

t fun in Arvia’s Summer Spinning Classes, led by Staff Captain Dawid. Held twice a week, these sessions were a hit across departments and provided a real boost to physical and mental wellbeing for many crew.

Crew Tour to Pisa: A Day to Remember
Two buses, 100 crew members, and one iconic landmark—Arvia’s crew headed out to explore the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The tour was packed with photo ops galore, including the classic “holding up the tower” pose, time to savour Italian delicacies and opportunity to appreciate the culture. It was a day of laughter, learning and leisure—truly a well-deserved break for our hardworking crew.
