The much-anticipated Crew Sports Day was set to begin, an event that promised an afternoon filled with laughter, competition, and team spirit. Guests gathered eagerly, ready to cheer on their favourite departments in a series of thrilling events.

The competition saw enthusiastic participation from various departments on Queen Mary 2, each bringing their unique flair to the games.

The Crew Sports Day featured four main events, each designed to test the skills and teamwork of the participants:

In the event of a tie, a tiebreaker was planned to determine the overall winner.

The spirit of friendly rivalry was evident as teams gave their all in each event. Some teams even resorted to sneaky rule-breaking tactics in their quest for victory. However, fairness prevailed, and the competition remained thrilling and engaging for all. In the final battle of tug of war, most battles were fairly straightforward with a clear winner; however, to everyone’s surprise, an intense battle between the favored housekeeping team and hotel ops was truly an unexpected delight that saw hotel ops overcome the housekeeping team after a spectacle of a battle.
As the events progressed, it became clear that the Bridges teams, the Diamond Dogs, and the Water Boys as well as the technical squad, the Spanners were the frontrunners. The tension mounted as these three teams faced off in a nail-biting sack race. The race was the final tiebreaker to determine the overall winner. The crowd roared with excitement, cheering on their favourites.

In a display of exceptional skill and teamwork, the Diamond Dogs emerged as the overall victorious team. Captain Andrew Hall himself crowned the Diamond Dogs as the overall winners, handing them a beautifully crafted trophy made by Chief Carpenter Jay. The trophy was a symbol of their hard-earned triumph and a testament to their teamwork.
The Crew Sports Day on the Queen Mary 2 was a resounding success. Guests and crew alike reveled in the joyous atmosphere, shouting for their favorites and enjoying the spirited competition. The event not only provided delightful entertainment for the guests but also strengthened the bonds among the crew members, fostering a sense of unity and collective pride.
